Welcome ! This is my research webpage and lists some of the projects I am involved in and some of the work that I am doing.

I work under the guidance of Prof. Rajesh Gupta and am a member of the Micro Electronic Embedded Systems Lab (MESL)
at UC San Diego. I am also a member of the Systems and Networking Group @ CSE/UCSD. 

Recently, I have also had the unique opportunity to work at two top research labs for mobile computing and systems research
(Intel Research and Microsoft Research). I am actively collaborating with my mentors at these labs and am continuing to work on
various projects relating to power management and wireless research.  

I was in the past a member of the Center for Embedded Computer Systems (CECS) at UC Irvine.

Interests :

My interests lie in the area of Embedded Systems, Low Power System Design, Energy Aware Computing and Wireless Systems.
 
Currently I am looking at :

•  Energy-Aware (or Green!) computing for Laptop and Desktop Computers (Somniloquy)
•  Reducing the Energy Consumption for Wireless Communication in Mobile Devices
  • Leverage multiple heterogeneous wireless interfaces with different radio characteristics 
    such as energy-per-bit, idle power, throughput, range/location effects etc. (CoolSpots, SwitchR)  
  • Use a second lower power radio interface to serve as a paging radio for a high-power radio (On-Demand-Paging) 
• Power Management for a VoIP over WiFi use scenario for a Smartphone device (Cell2Notify)
• Mitigating the impact of VoIP traffic over WiFi infrastructure networks (SoftSpeak)   
• Energy Aware Compressed Communication
