Trevor Pering is a staff researcher at Intel Research in Santa
Clara. He has been working on mobile systems for approximately ten
years. His most recent work has focused on the dynamic composition
of mobile systems: connecting multiple platforms together to form a
more capable whole. Throughout his career he has held an emphasis on
power management and the broad application of mobile technologies to
include the end-user perspective as well as the underlying
supporting technology. He graduated in 2000 with Ph.D. in Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California,
Berkeley.
Yuvraj Agarwal is a third
year PhD student in Computer Engineering at UC San Diego. He has
been actively working in the area of mobile computing, looking at
power management issues. More recently he has been looking at
platforms with multiple radios, and exploring techniques to use the
diversity provided by these heterogeneous radios in order to save
energy. His most recent work utilizes multiple radios to reduce
energy consumption for a VoIP scenario for a WiFi Smartphone. His
research interests include energy aware compressed communication and
instrumentation of mobile platforms for better power management.
Mark Corner has
been an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at
the University of Massachusetts-Amherst since 2003 after graduating
with his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of
Michigan. His primary interests lie in the areas of mobile and
pervasive computing, networking, file systems and security. He was
the recipient of an NSF CAREER award in 2005, a Best Paper Award at
ACM Multimedia 2005, as well as the Best Student Paper Award at
Mobicom 2002. Prof. Corner's work is supported by the NSF, DARPA,
and the NSA.
